Dr. Giselle Poveda is the senior vice president and provost for Miami Regional University. Former provost and professor at Universidad Americana’s College of University Studies, she has been part of different boards of directors for nonprofit organizations. She has dedicated time to serve as a mentor for Vital Voices Nicaragua and as an instructor in schools across the hemisphere. An international consultant in diverse disciplines, Giselle has written several articles on many topics and is the author of Bienvenido a la Vida, a short-story book for young readers on ethics and values. She was selected for two DAAD programs: UNILEAD, which studies and benefits quality higher education administration in developing countries, and the International Dean’s Course at Saarland University and the University of Alicante, promoting internationalization in Latin American universities. She received a doctoral degree in higher education administration, a master in education, graduate certificates in curricular development and education management, and bachelor degrees in business administration, history, and philosophy with concentrations in Latin American studies and Tourism Hospitality from different institutions in the United States, Europe, and Latin America, graduating with honors. A CALI fellow of the Aspen Global Leadership Network, Dr. Poveda serves the community from Miami, Florida.
