The Senior Vice President is the chief academic officer of the University and is responsible for all academic programs, support services and institutional effectiveness.
Jay Kyle Ober, PhD, ACNP/ANP-BC, CCRN, CFRN, CEN
Dr. Ober was appointed Senior Vice President in 2014 and has led the University through transition from one accrediting agency to another, added Bachelor degree programs, improved program outcomes and has recruited talented faculty and administrators dedicated to student success. Dr. Ober has served as an executive for top medical centers, universities and colleges throughout the United States and served as an Officer in the United States Air Force Reserves for over 19 years leading Aeromedical Evacuation crews with his last appointment being the Chief of Aircrew Training and Chief Flight Nurse Instructor. Dr. Ober holds a PhD from the University of Massachusetts-Worcester, a Master’s degree from Ball State University, a Post Master’s Certificate from the University of Miami, a Bachelor’s degree from University of Massachusetts-Amherst and an Associate of Science Degree from Springfield Technical Community College. He is well known globally for his work in patient safety, simulation, hospital and academic senior leadership and organizational transformation improving quality, efficiency and outcomes. As an innovative thinker and an architect of change, Dr. Ober will lead the strategic plan and guide the University through growth and meeting established outcomes.
